The Annual Fund
Gifts to the Queen of Peace Annual Fund help us bridge the gap between the high school’s income (tuition and grants) and the annual costs of educating our students, a difference of approximately $1050.

Capital Improvements
Queen of Peace is committed to creating an inclusive community where our student body benefits from a college-preparatory curriculum in a state-of-the-art environment.

Commemoratives
Our Commemorative Card Program offers an opportunity to honor individuals while making a gift to Peace. Commemorative cards are used for a variety of occasions, remembrance or memorial. You can request cards to be sent to your home or office by emailing kmettyc@queenofpeacehs.org or calling 708.458.7600.
Gifts of Stock
If you own stock, it is often more tax-wise to contribute stock than cash. Gifts of appreciated stock are fully deductible — up to a maximum of 30% of your adjusted gross income. This is because a gift of appreciated stock generally offers a two-fold savings. First, you avoid paying any capital gains tax on the increase in value of the stock. Second, you receive an income tax deduction for the full fair market value of the stock at the time of the gift.
Inkind and Other Gift Sources
A Sinsinawa Dominican education is a gift that lasts a lifetime. Parents, families and friends must be actively involved in order to maintain and expand our quality academic program for today’s students, the adults of tomorrow. Your participation will make a difference. As a member of the Peace family, you can get involved by:
- Inkind Gifts (tax advantage) Queen of Peace purchases many supplies for its daily activities, events and renovations. You or your company can help offset our expenses by donating product or merchandise to Peace.
- Target (Take Charge of Education) - Every time you use your Target Guest Card you participate in this program. Target donates an amount equal to 1% of your purchase to the school of your choice. For information about Take Charge of Education, call 1800.316.6142 or visit target.com.
- Gift Certificate Program – Check to see if your Parish sells gift certificates that allow you to earn tuition credit at Queen of Peace High School for a family member or a student in need.
Planned Giving Opportunities
- Gifts of Cash
Gifts of cash are fully deductible up to a maximum of 50% of your adjusted gross income.
- Gifts of Real Estate
A gift of real estate can also be tax-wise. A residence, vacation home, farm, acreage or vacant lot may have so appreciated in value through the years that its sale would mean a sizeable capital gains tax. By making a gift of property instead, you would avoid the capital gains tax, and, at the same time, receive a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the property.
- Gifts of Life Insurance
Gifts of life insurance can provide a significant charitable deduction. You could purchase a new policy or donate a policy that you currently own but no longer need. To receive a deduction, designate Peace as both the owner and beneficiary of the life insurance policy. Check with your insurance agent for the details.
- Bequest
Peace can be named a beneficiary in your will in any one of a number of simple ways. An outright gift, either a designated dollar amount or percentage of your estate, could be specified. Peace could also be named as a remainder beneficiary to receive funds only after specific sums have been paid to individual beneficiaries.
Not all of the available methods of giving could be included on this site, and not all the tax ramifications of each form of gift could be explained. Check with your attorney, accountant or other tax advisors for additional information on how these general rules apply to your situation.
Matching Gifts
Will your employer match your donation?
You can literally double, triple or quadruple the value of your gift to Queen of Peace High School if you are employed by one of the many companies or their divisions, subsidiaries or affiliates that offers matching programs. In fact, a great number of employers will match contributions of spouses, directors or retirees as well as those of employees.
This year, thanks to generous individuals, foundations, and grants, we are able to provide 139 students with much needed tuition assistance. Please join other thoughtful donors and send your gift today, making it possible for more young women with limited resources to receive the quality of education available at Queen of Peace.
Here are just a couple of excerpts from the many thank you notes we received from families:
“Your gift could not have come at a better time. Words cannot express my heartfelt gratitude.”
“We, as parents who strongly believe in a Catholic education, will continue to work hard and struggle through life to provide our children with a Catholic education so they can continue to grow in their faith. A person who helps people give their children a Catholic education is someone with a very kind heart. Thank you.”
“The donation has helped me succeed as a student. I hope one day to be able to help out bright students who want to attend marvelous schools but sometimes do not have enough money to attend. God bless you.”
You can see that your gift makes a difference to very real people who place great value on Catholic education. Our students, like the student quoted above, know that one day they will, in turn, help our next generation. The young women of Peace are bright, generous, and eager to make their world a better place.
Come by and experience campus life at Peace today.
